Castile&Aragon?

Is there a peaceful way to annex Aragon? I dont feel like going all over the mediterranian conquering there islands.

U could try diploannexing them but it goes much easier if u relieve them of some provinces first

It doesnt allow me to vassal them but I dont understand why. I have a 200+ relation, military alliance/acess, gurantee of indepence, and a royal marriage.

Maybe they does not want to be vassals

They are bigger than you though... Might have somethibg to do with it. (Oh - and there's an event that might fix it for you... )

Whatever u fancy Go spread some christianity in Northern Africa. Or attack Portugal or Aragon. A 10 prov Aragon is hard to diploannex even if an event sets them as ur vassals

Ohh one more thing, say I took over Aragon in some other way, other then the historcal event you're talking about. Would the Castillian Flag change to the Spanish?

That's a different event so it depends on what u choose in that event.

They do if they choose to proclaim themselves the Kingdom of Spain.Or something close to that.
Right now I am playing France and am trying to take as much of Aragons land in wars a fast as I can so if the Iberian dynasy comes then I wont have to fight a bigger Spain. Sardina & Sicily are garrisoned with a lot of troops so it is gonna hurt when I try and take those. Oh well
Seems as though the Ai still likes to beef up islands and leave their capital wide open

I'm playing as Zanj (the Swahili nation in east Africa) so I cannot do anything to affect the outcome in Europe. In fact, my map does not even reveal any European nations.

It's around 1460, and I am watching the screen text on the activities in Europe.

Castille annexes Aragon. (I assume this is diploannex)

Castille annexes Portugal. (I assume this is diploannex)

Wow, Castille didn't waste any time! LOL

Yes, the flag that Spain uses is the same Castillian flag (different graphic, but same layout)

The only change is that the Leon in the 'Spanish' shield is red, which is an ahistorical mistake from Franco's days
