"CAS Authentication failed!"

I'm having an issue logging into my Paradox Interactive account on the forum on my home computer. When I try to do it, I get this message after putting in my email and password:

CAS Authentication failed!

You were not authenticated.

You may submit your request again by clicking here.

If the problem persists, you may contact the administrator of this site.

phpCAS 1.3.2 using server https://accounts.paradoxplaza.com/ (CAS 2.0)

On my laptop, I'm trying to get into by Chrome. However, I've tried logging in on other browsers, and it doesn't work. I've likewise tried emptying my cache, and that hasn't worked. Meanwhile, at my work computer, I'm able to log into the forum A-OK, with no issues.

Has anyone dealt with this, or know the solution? I've looked online and seem unable to find anything. I was able to log in perfectly fine some weeks ago, but for some reason I'm no longer able to.

Aside from emptying your cache, have you deleted all cookies relating to this site?

Yup, those were one of the things I deleted. Still the same problem.

I've discovered the solution!!!

What I did was...

1) Go to Chrome's Settings.
2) Click on "show advanced settings" at the bottom.
3) Go to HTTPS/SSL.
4) Click on "manage certificates."
5) Go to "untrusted publishers," and delete them all.

Apparently, the certificate for the Pdox forum was one of them. I can now access it on my laptop again!

Lawl. More so dealing with internet security than games And I have no idea how that happened. The forum was working, then one day I literally just could not connect for some reason. Why it added the forum to the list of untrusted publishers, I don't know. I do know my computer had a weird restart a while ago, and certain settings got put back to default. It might have happened then.

a certificate expired a while back and there is a possibility that you system didn't update the old for the new if you had choose to ignore it and then it go locked into an "untrusted state"

Just to say, I also have this problem. After several months of fruitless attempts on both a computer and a tablet, I have now finally logged using a library computer. The problem first affected me when I was merging my old forum account with my Paradox account. It was in April, similar to Henry v.Keiper.

Now I can see this, I will try to install Chrome at home to solve the problem!

I have now installed Chrome at home. I cannot delete untrusted publishers using a normal Windows User account. So I had to open Chrome using an Administrator account and then delete untrusted publishers. Even after that, I have to open Chrome using my Administrator account every time that I want to access the forums.

So the only way I can access the forums is by using a browser with Administrator privileges and a deliberately broken certificate security system. That cannot be good.

His issue was in April 2014, not 2015.
This thread was when different forum software was on different servers. And that problem was fixed at that time. So it's very unlikely your problem is the same issue.

I use Chrome every day to access this forum, from two different machines, and do not have to run it in Admin mode. Nor do we have other similar reports.

I do not know why you alone are experiencing this sorry.

Forgive me for resurrecting this thread. I had this situation pop up again, and I couldn't resolve it the same way I did last time. Everything I tried to look at didn't work, and - once again - it was only happening on my computer. This was especially peculiar, as I recently bought a new laptop. I thought it was a Lenovo issue, but couldn't figure out why. I know Lenovo used to have questionable software on their older laptop models, but they don't on any of their more recent ones. I even messaged the mods, who were very kind and patient towards me (kudos to @AndrewT ), but in the end could only tell me that the problem was entirely on my end, and not with the forum itself. I knew this had to be true, because my account worked everywhere else I tried to log in. It was becoming really frustrating, because I had no idea what was going on, and Google Fu wasn't working.

Well, after much thinking and researching, I discovered the problem...and a most unexpected one.

I have an accountability software on my laptop called Covenant Eyes. (Basically, if I go to any websites I shouldn't be going to, my wife, who is my accountability partner, finds out.) What I think happened was the certificates installed by Covenant Eyes started to mix with the certificates for the forum. I deleted the certificates, uninstalled Covenant Eyes (with my wife nearby, don't worry), reinstalled it, and tried going to the forum again. Voila! It's working again. If anyone else has Covenant Eyes, it's most likely this.
