i honestly dont know why that sentence is causing such a negative response. perhaps the meaning of the words "seem to" and the effect of the comma are overlooked. if u want a rephrase i'll replace the comma with a full stop and replace the rest with "I suspect paradox may lack the historical knowledge", or "I am concerned paradox may lack the historical knowledge", which mean the same thing as the original sentence. Theres not even any element of allegation or blaming of fault in the sentence in its ordinary meaning. I believe and hope everyone is entitled to give their reasoned opinion as to what they guess or suspect is or is not the case for any given topic. I havent made a blanket statement, i gave reasoned explanations of the statement. If you think that my suspicion is unfounded and wrong, then criticise my explanation, just as Demetrios and some others did, or by all means attack my explanations fiercely. but with great respect, i believe using statements of personal allegation like this
You obviously don't know what you are talking about
would not have any merit towards the discussion and was not a kind of statement that I have used.

There are some ppl in the BETA with a thorough knowledge of China. Nuff said.
I don't know the people in the beta then, nor do i know them now. the beta testers were not selected when I made the statement, and i could not possibly know all of them and whether they have knowledge of China within such a short time. nor have i made any statements about the knowledge of the beta testers. so if that is what you assert to be true, then I see no reason to doubt you, and I look forward to the game with China interestingly and historically simulated by the people in the beta.
now back to the topic, shall we?.....
I think funding the rebel would be a good idea, but maybe it should be restricted to coastal provinces. AFAIK, the Taiping rebellion pretty much started on its own in inland Guangxi and expanded pretty fast. Western powers probably started the aid after Taiping forces reached Nanjing.
