You are drawing some pretty extreme conclusions.

The a6m2 was an impressive aircraft, but it was a great deal less scary when allied pilots figured out how to fight it. It was a different paradigm in aircraft design, it just needed different tactics.

The spitfire was comparable to the me109. It was more maneuverable but slower and much weaker armament. But, by far the biggest factors in the battle of Britain was the very limited time that me109s had over the UK and the fact that they had to escort bombers! Escorting bombers, puts you at a huge disadvantage. You cannot abandon the bombers and are committed to the battle, thereby giving up the main advantage that energy fighting gives, the ability to choose your battles and only to choose favorable ones. The me109 also had a much better climb rate. me109>spitfire, unpopular because the spitfire is so sexy...

There was also the insanity when the german fighter escorts were ordered to fly at the same speed as the bombers....

j87s were easy kills for yak3s

Lol, any plane with guns could kill these things. This aircraft was essentially obsolete when the war began. A 1936 model aircraft fighting in wwii, this plane was so slow at 390km/h. It was good at dropping bombs accurately, but in any air to air combat, everything slaughtered it.

An example of one of the advantages a high energy fighter has over it's slower but more maneuverable foe, is that if your bounce fails and you find yourself at a disadvantage, the power of your plane allows you to disengage and most likely get away.
