E.g. Serbia splits from Yugoslavia during the German invasion, but in this time line Nikola Tesla has returned to his native land and constructed his death ray, which can be attached to any infantry for +30 air and ground attack. Yay!

I would like to mod the game so that some tiny break-away country, a la carpatho-ukraine, would create itself, then have an army of one under-strength militia, but have an uber-brigade attached to symbolize a futuristic mega-weapon that somehow fell into the rebel's hands.

Last I checked Hungary wasn't allied to germany before WW2, Slovakia was.

Carpatho-Ukraine was in much the same situation as Slovakia.

Last I checked Hearts of Iron wasn't a World Wat Two simulation. It is merely a game about the period from 1936-1948. The game isn't meant to be an exact representation of WW2.

Maybe some players would wan't to choose as Germany to support Carpatho-Ukraine and Slovakia over Hungary. Why sould they not have that right?

If you are playing and Germany decides not to support you and your territorial claims, RELOAD THE DAMN GAME!

Some people want options for their game. That's part of the fun of HoI.

In the summer of 1933 Gyula Gömbös the hungarian primeminister went to Berlin for negotiate about Hungary's territorial claims. He wanted the help of Germany to get back the lost territories. The first step to the ally.
In the august of 1938 Horthy visited Hitler. They agreed that Hungary will help in the attack of Czechslovakia.
After the first Wien dictate it was 100% that Hungary will be the ally of Germany.
They gived us territory, we gived them army. That is simple.

Slovakia was the puppet state of Germany, CU wasn't. If you want to give Germany support i think it will have a big big big price. And 95 no, 5 yes for AI.
-100 relation with Hungary, make a puppet regime in CU
Because of there is no first Wien dictate Hungary don't have to be the ally of Germany, so the Hun-CzSL-Po ally can be real danger for Germany. It is too dangerous isn't it?

Guess you play Red Alert too much! I decided to download when Westwood made it Freeware and your remark reminds me of how much frustration I got while playing as the Allies and having my tanks destroyed by an energy beam! :p

Considering Carpatho Ukraine is a streight forward extention of Ukraine itself. Its successful independence would lead to independence of whole Ukraine that was partly under Poland and partly under Soviet union.

In fact, sucessful independance would lead to revolt within poland and much better CB vs Poland than just simple declaration of war over some provinces.

Looks like a very important choice that would of been made.

that is the kind of opportunities I would love to see in game..not fantastic, but realistic and holding on the ground - like, the situation in TRP, if Sealion is succesfull then Free Commonwealth country is formed, like Free France(could be one of the possibilities that happen), chance for Stalin to really choose whom to get friendship pact with in summer, 1939 - allies or Germany, thus limiting it's expansion, but, having larger chance to use the situation that only 10 german divisions guard eastern front in may, 1940.., etc etc. huge field of historical and realistic possibilities is not yet used.
