So I just got the event where a robot asks if you'll take him in as a Leader and said Yes, assigning him to my primary sector.
A little while later I got an event from one of the Caravans passing by saying that a cross-species was made from one of the Rackets and the Azizians (Those slugs you can revive). Amused since I never got this event before, I go to check my Species tab and see that I have three new pops on my capitol Gaia world.... And they're all robots of the "Caretaker AX7-b species".... And they're being Exterminated as Undesirables, with no option to change this. Undesirables is the only option present.

Okay so, a few things wrong with this. For starters, that species only popped up after the Caravan event. There is no Racket-Azizian half-species present in the galaxy at all.
Then there's my empire currently having synths present and being given Citizen Rights (One of my colony governors is an Awoken synth even).
I've also had Purges forbidden entirely.

So I modify the "Caretaker species" with a trait and apply it. It then changes to Residency. Great! One day passes and it goes right back to Undesirables. :/
Despite the Undesirable tag, I notice one of my planets assembling one of these Caretakers right now (while they're being purged on the other planet)

Am I missing something here? D:

First time I got that caravan event, the created pops were actually robots. The second time I got it, I actually got half-racket pops that had all the positive traits of my starter race but without the negative one, and tomb-world preference to boot. Pretty nice.

Funny story though, I was a cyborg (FIW) empire at that point and I immediately set the new species to assimilation - at that point there were 3 of them. They grew so fast across my empire that it took until 53 had accumulated before I actually managed to reach a point where they were all assimilated. They were growing faster than I could assimilate them!

Weird how it makes robots xD Doesn't really make sense why they're set to Undesirables for me either :/

Oof I know the feeling, when you're trying to modify (or in this case assimilate) a species but they keep growing and spawning new ones in the meantime haha

They must have been gestalt robots. Those can't live outside a gestalt machine empire and always purge.

Makes sense. Though how they showed up as a result of that Caravan event is a different matter since neither of the species involved were robots, cyborgs, or synths and they're all named after the event leader I recruited? That on the other hand, is a bit weird!

I guess the event sometimes bugs out and makes a pop of the wrong species, but still a species present in your empire. I further speculate that when you get event leaders like AX7-b that the game does have a species for them, but keeps it hidden. I suppose AX7-b has a species that is considered a gestalt machine race and therefore subject to auto-purge.

Makes sense, thanks! Still weird that it picked a 'species' other than the two mentioned haha, but I guess that's indeed a bug'

Crossbreeding with caravaneers can indeed give all sorts of interesting results.
First they sell me 4 racket pops.

Then the racket breed with the racket and creates half-racket pops. (that's what the popup said at least.) 3 robot pops is placed on the planet.
Then the other caravaneer land and breed with the half-rackets (robots, remember) and spawned 3 pops of my primary pops genome (so could be applied across the entire species) with tomb preference and psionics.

Lastly my main race decides to crossbreed with the halfracket robots for an outcome of 3 psionic cyborgs. That one made sense (sort of) but something is clearly wrong with crossbreeding in general, wether from events or compatability.
