An option for Career mode.

Brutal start would start the player with no mech warriors, no crew, and only a light mech to their name.

In brutal start you are limited to one planet until a merc company picks up your character at which point it moves into standard gameplay.

this means five through ten fights being on one planet with one mech, you get hurt or the mech overly damaged and game over.

What this would add to the game, A pick up point where light mechs are extremely important as you are one person and not part of a lance learning valuable strats against vehicles and locust mechs is highly important.

It would also allow for an easier or harder start once the game proper starts. As unlike the other ones where you pick a backstory you play it in this one.

With brutal start you will actually start with a faction and will be working with them until picked up. As such you will have a better rep with a faction of your choice. And if you make the right choices you could even start with an ECM mech.

Just seems a tad excessive on the grind but to each their own. Although this seems more like a mod than something for the basic game. Out of curiosity where does the Argo come from in this version? I don't see them writing a bunch of new code so that you start without the Argo if they kept it for career mode in the 1st place.

Seems we have a high proportion of masochists among the community, or players with a perverse need to prove themselves vicariously via pixels.

There's enough settings in the game already to make it hard... I'd rather they focus on getting Heavy Metal out the door with a sizable bundle of mechs, and whatever other potential surprises there may be.

I highly doubt something like this would come before that. I am not stupid in suggestions. And assuming a concept would come before something planned especially a concept that is obviously disliked by some is just stupid.

I like the idea of starting with just yourself and a single Mech. Perhaps a random damaged medium Mech. But, you still have the Argo.

"It'd be like you just lost everything," start. The reason you're in charge now is because all the other Mechwarriors died. You're starting over.
