Career Mode Reputation Planning

I'm thinking about how to best get the 4 Honored and 4 Loathed reputations to max out the score in that area. In reading some guides, it's recommended to be Loathed by Steiner and Kurita. However, I also read that there are no systems where those factions can be targeted by missions (although there are systems where they offer missions.) Is that still the case? Because if so, it sounds like both Steiner and Kurita would have to be in the Honored category to max out the reputation points.

It is almost impossible to become fully loathed by Steiner and Kurita because the only way they are opfor targets is in Flashpoints. I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's considerably harder than, say, Marik or Liao. You would almost have to run those Flashpoints as charity cases in order to maximize reputation gain/loss.

When I'm trying to maximize reputation, I tend to go for:
* Honored: Steiner, Davion, Pirates, Kurita
* Loathed: Liao, Marik, Taurian, Magistracy

I'm looking at the new starmap files for 1.6 and there are now systems where you can target Kurita and Steiner. I'll try and put up revised versions of @ninte000 's sheets.

Yep. The 1.6 update to the starmap added 13 systems with Steiner as a potential target and 14 systems with Kurita as a potential target. I'd forgotten about that change. The current Career Mode scoring guide mentions some strategies for maximizing reputation.

When I tried to maximize my score in reputation I chose Kurita and Steiner to be loathed. I went with honored for Marik and was able to find missions against Steiner with them maxed my loathed score with Steiner. However I made the mistake of also having Davion loath me as well. As such Ionly found a few contracts that targeted them for the pirates. I believe that if I had a good rep with Davion I would have found more contracts targeting Kurita.

Of course you would! In my personal experience Davion-controlled system usually offer contract against Pirates (everywhere), Liao and Kurita (along the Davion-Liao space border, or Taurian Concordate (along the Davion-Taurian border, while Marik systems tend to offer contracts against Steiner & Liao along the Marik-Liao border.
