So I was going about my business, when I noticed that somehow Brittany had come under the sway of the Papacy.
And after loading a previous game and taking a look, it looks like the Breton Duke's brother became a Bishop, and then became a Cardinal, and then he was installed by faction demand. I can only assume that Brittany becoming part of the Papacy is thanks to him having been a Cardinal. Though it's strange as he's still a Cardinal despite being feudal and no longer holding any Bishoprics.
Perhaps bishops shouldn't be allowed to be installed by faction demand? Though I'm certain somebody will provide a historical example of why this should be allowed, so perhaps just something to prevent Cardinals specifically or maybe just something to make sure that they don't end up a vassal of the Pope.
