Go to common/component_templates/00_weapons_megacorps.txt and check the techs required for caravan weapons. It's just regular old plasma tech 2 which is super easy to get. These weapons are OP but more importantly and why im not putting this under bug report section right away its preventing me from using tier 2 plasma weapons i just researched, and im wondering if anyone knows how i can edit the file to allow me to use them.

The weapons are listed as caravan cannons in the weapons list, but once you put them on the ship they turn back into regular plasma cannons.
That does appear to be the case in the tooltip once placed, but the cost still act as if it was a caravan cannon
