WAD. He can not claim or fight for a kingdom which no longer exists. Which title could he gain by winning? He has no claim on Norway. That said, I agree that you shouldn't be able to create or destroy titles during war. If that's what happened, report it in the bug forum.

I think it should be "shouldn't be able to create or destroy titles during war FOR THAT TITLE (i.e. it is contested)".
If we don't attach that addendum, it'll turn into something annoying like, "No, King of Sicily, sir, owner of all Egypt; you can't usurp the Kingdom of Egypt because the Caliph is at war with a count in Siberia". Come on, man.
Has that at least been fixed, I haven't experienced it in about a year.

Yeah, that sounds a bit odd. Probably WAD, but definitely odd. Of course, the poor Saxon might then be better off counquering Scotland and destroying England to avoid all the wars...
