I apologize if this has been brought up before but skimming through some of the DDs I can't seem to find a mention relating to if you can capture enemy equipment in battle and use it in your own divisions.

We've seen in the WWWs that there is a screen that tells you how much you have of each type of tank, plane, ship, infantry weapons, support equipment ect.

And from how I believe Daniel described encirclement in the video you surround and cut off an army and the men are either killed or capture leaving one to believe any left over equipment would be as well.

Have they said that you will be able to use captured equipment in your own army? Since historically in one case Germany used captured Hotchkiss tanks as mainly occupation vehicles or even modified some of them and sent them off to allies.

This would be interesting. Though would be probably available through mods since most supplies that you can take from the enemy mess up the weapons configurations and who do you define supplies since it is such as abstract concept. Fuel is usually only Diesel or Petroleum so that is easy enough to define.

I'm looking forward to the modding capabilities for this game.

Yeah I'd like to see it as a feature either from a mod or a future update.

If I start running into problems with producing my own tanks you can bet I'd want to make use of captured ones in the mean time!

Or even just use them in special divisions or send them to allies via Lend Lease.

Well if you think about it the weapons supplies is an issue, so if you capture a division/province you could capture a fraction of it - representing familiar shells/landmines/grenades etc The other supplies would be food/socks/boots though everything else would be foreign to use. An American radio operator is going to stick to using his radio than a german one, unless they were really desperate.

For now the supplies of weapons would be mutually exclusive, but fuel (if they ever get that to how we want it), and other supplies would still work.

I was more thinking along the lines of captured tanks and planes, not necessarily going THAT into depth about captured equipment.

I'm thinking how it would be introduced into they system, would the division be reinforced a little?

Well we've seen there is a screen that shows you how much you have of what and what models they are, so captured vehicles would probably be added to those numbers.

What I wonder is, how would you select a specific division to have them or would the game just throw them about where ever they are needed as replacements (or just thrown in reserves if no divisions use that kind of vehicle anymore)

They wont add it in. They have basically said it wont be in and you can read a ton on these forums about it. Its just like the production license thing, they wanted to add it in but decided against it for now for some reason or another they have never told us. But in my opinion Im a little disappointed they havnt included captured equipment or production licenses. Because with an almost two year delay they have had plenty of time to add it in. And if someone gives me the excuse that they are "making it perfect" or "It'll be done when its done" just realize they gave themselves that deadline, not us.
