Has AoD changed this horrible mechanic which was in HoI2? That unlike naval units, if a province was lost which had aircraft stationed there they would all be automatically destroyed? Naval units in a province just captured are either damaged but escape or there is a small chance of capture of a fleet.
This was annoying in HoI2 because it meant a huge burden of unnecessary micro-management, especially on fluid fronts.
If you have the time/patience you will never suffer from it since you can pause the game an hour before the province is captured and manually move all the aircraft out. You only suffer if you forget to do that. In addition the AI almost always suffered, which favors the human player with a lot of time too strongly.
