First of all I want to thank Paradox for yet again releasing a beautiful game. Doomsday just feels very nice although I haven't had time to play it that much yet. That will come, though :p

But I have one question. When playing the 1945 scenario - what are the criterias for surrender events for the SU and the Allies respectively? Are there any at all? There must be some BP event even for World War Three...

I think there are no events, which is pretty stupid. They add a scenario and nothing much else to it. Events are part of what make the game interesting.

How about a "Aliens invade, do you want to:

a) attack!
b)surrender
c) confuse it with British word-lingo"

There certainly are capitulation event for Germany in DD. And of course there is one for the USSR and one for the allies.

Edit: I read that the wrong way. Anyhoo, there is surrender events for the UK and the US to surrender to the Japanese and the Germans.
Dunno if there is any "cold war gets hot" surrender events.

It would seem odd that if ww3 broke out so soon that surrender by either power block would happen. If you reach moscow its pretty obvious the soviets have lost, they have no one backing them up. If you can land in america then the west has lost, they also have no one to back them up. Surrender events served not only to end ww2 but also to make possible post war happenings. If your power block is the only left, thats it game over. :D I can see how they would help but I won't lose any sleep over a lack of them. Although I have only made it as far as kiev as the americans. Mr. Nuke helped me bust the front wide open as well as my flow of oil whilst theirs was low since I nuked their oil wells. :D

Okay, seems that Paradox didn't made any events at all for the Doomsday Scenario :( a shame, actually, since the game is so well-made otherwise.

Then it is up to the great modders in here, I suppose :)

At least from glancing at the events from the demo it doesnt look like a lot has changed from the pre WW3 era... if you play from 1936 as say, Germany, you are likely to be at war with the world until the end of DD unless you conquer them all. Germany having occupied the British Islands and Defeated the Soviet Union doesnt trigger any "peace treaty" type event for the US and the Allies as a whole.

I would have loved for there to be some sort of "cold war" type events, at least for a few years. Peace in say, 1945, and then events leading up to a new war a few years later.
