I have a question. I have conquered three castles and one town. For some reason, the character automatically says "I will take control of ... myself". I don't have a choice to give it to anyone else. Same with ministers. When I took the first city and created my kingdom, I made a local citizen the minister. How can I appoint one of my party "heroes"?

After taking the castle/city for yourself, talk to one of your companions to whom you wish to give the fief to (go to the party screen and there choose him/her and press the talk button). Then ask the companion if they wish to become a vassal/hold a fief, and then you will be given the option to hand them over the fief.

Okay, thanks. I've heard that you can recruit lords, how do I do this? My companions aren't enough to rule my new kingdom containing half of Swadia and all of Vaegirs (stupid Vaegirs, refused peace so I destroyed them).

LoL, wish I knew how to.

If I have no lords, I get refusal for having no military. If I have other lords, then I get refusal for having other people.

And it seems my supreme persuasion skill is utterly useless.

I really wish I could convert other lords to my cause. Problem is that they give you once chance (in which they always refuse) and that's it.
