Capital Suggestions: Charlemagne

Hey so since some duchies are changed around a little in CK2+ I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the best ones to use at a Carolingian capital for Charlemagne. Anything in the primary 3 regions can be "acquired" with some plotting. I know Flanders is one of the best in Vanilla but it doesn't look like it is here. I was thinking Florence looked enticing but while the duchy has water access the county does not the way Flanders does.
Conquering Brittany and using that may be an option I look into.
Genoa is looking pretty enticing actually. I might go with that.

Is Brittany really that good of a Dutchy? I usually go with Flanders -if- I play as Charlemagne, but that is interesting if true.

Well Flanders is half the size in Plus so it loses a lot of the appeal. Brittany I think still has a sea trade route and 6 counties though only one of them is 5 deep and it's landlocked.
Eventually I picked Genoa because it's a bunch of provinces all accessible to the sea and most of them, including Genoa itself, are pretty big. Plus it let me swap to Italy as a primary title for the Carolingian Empire which is going to make this playthrough interesting and pushes me more towards rebuilding Roman Empire instead of taking over Germany and Andalus like I usually do with this Empire.

Yeah, sounds about right. 6 not under Charlemagne's control, 2 under.
