Can't Wait for hoi4

Looks great, i really cant wait for this one. Love how production is now, how i always wanted it.
Graphics look great, love that u can see night and weather now on the main map, will make the world so much more alive.


few more months really not any good ww2 grand strategy games around and i think Im about done with hoi3, especially after seeing this.

very happy HOI4 is happening



will have a cool MP lobby like eu4 too i bet easy to get a game together.

Me neither. As we are much older now since me and my friends played hoi to hoi 3 we got families or other ties to prevent us from play on same machine. So I hope this would work on first go. Wow times fly, I closing 60 before HOI 5 Im sure

I'm really looking forward to this game coming out too. It seems to be able to correct most of HoI III's flaws while keeping at heart what makes a HoI game.
Of course, the more the projects is revealed to us the more its own flaws are getting apparent, but the game is still not in beta. Which is in itself a problem, because I find it increasingly difficult to believe that a Q1 release date will be possible.

I definitely believe a Q1 release is possible (Albeit with potential bugs).
Dan said during the livestream that they won't be making any more drastic changes to the game mechanics and from here on out the development is more of adding content and historical facts/scenarios. (Land combat will for the most part stay the same; minor changes to diplomacy/espionage; however trade seems to be revamped)
With that in mind, changing stats and fact-checking details shouldn't really take too much time.
Q1 seems like a definite possibility.
However, I definitely think they should release an open beta so that they can get the bugs (which I expect will be a lot) out of the way by March.

Haha, +1 - I was going to play another game of HoI3 and then the air warfare DD came out, and it was like "I'm not sure I can go back now" - I mean, I could have, but decided to focus on other games and wait for the new HoI instead, looks excellent .

HOI3 wasn't even functional when it was first released. Im fine with waiting for patches, this is paradox after all--not to put them down.

EU4 however worked pretty well when it first came out, crash wise for me.


they should just put an early access label on it on steam until its patched up.

Paradox is much better at QA of full releases now, I'd expect an EU4-style launch rather than HOI3 .

This is the ONE war game I am really looking forward to early next year... nobody else comes close to WW2 for me... this is THE WW2 game!

I've been playing so much Darkest Hour, in preparation for this. Yeah, I know it'll be closer to HoI3, but Darkest Hour's just so damn good.

I am very excited BUT

After having played HOI3 Black Ice I can't play Vanilla anymore. Hopefully they take a few of the good things BICE is giving to HOI3 and put those into 4. But I don't think that we can necessarily expect the same depth from 4 as we have in HOI3 plus 3 expansions + mod
So I hope we get a BICE for 4 at some point in the future to add the depth to the nice graphics and other nice gameplay elements they introdue

i remember the resource system in older HOI games very pretty much useless except for oil

You can try Supreme Ruler 1936 or Supreme Ruler Ultimate. Both are not bad for WW2.
