So I made this country in Korea my tributary, but the problem is that I now cannot vassalize him without getting rid of the tributary status. When I get rid of the tributary status though he loses over 100 relations with me making me have to wait FOREVER just so I can get it back.

Is there a way to vassalize a tributary without removing the tributary status?

If it helps i'm using extended timeline mod for this but I don't think it causes any issues.

Well, sometimes your tributaries ally someone, who's not your tributary. So you could indirectly declare war on them this way?

I was trying to avoid going to war with them cause it gives them a horrid opinion of me if I forcefully vassalize them. It also makes all the money/time I dumped into getting 200 opinion worthless.
