Cant use PU junior partners ports?

I'm Castile & have Portugal as my junior partner in a PU. I am kind of late to the exploring/colonizing party tho, & Portugal has taken ALL of the springboard provinces for colonizing the new world. They have Tenerife, Azores, etc etc etc. So I am locked out of colonizing the new world because it is out of my colonial range? Looks like I could use my PU partners ports for colonization range? Or am I just screwed out of colonizing now???

You can't use your subjects' land for colonial range, PU or otherwise. Your only chance is to get better tech or and advisor that extends your own colonial range, or you can try getting into a war with some Africans to gain a province for yourself to gain a foothold in the Coast of Guinea and extend your range that way.
