Can't start game

Hi guys,

Ever since the latest patch, I've been unable to start up the game.

The launcher works, but the game doesn't launch.

Instead, my cursor changes to an hourglass, but CKII does not maximize. If I click, CKII becomes maximized, but changes to a white screen. Clicking again causes the program to crash.

I have done a clean re-install to no avail.

By a clean install we mean manually deleting ALL the CK2 directories from under BOTH the Steam/GamersGate AND MyDocuments folders - you definitely did that? That really should have fixed it for you.

I do notice this

svchost.exe:AudioClientRpc

which seems to refer to the sound system. try editing settings.txt to say master_volume=0 which disables all sound; if that helps you probably have a sound driver or codec problem.

If both those things don't help at all, please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity), settings.txt, system.log and error.log files (you'll need to rename the .log files to .txt to upload). Also open setup.log, search for "checksum", and paste that line only in here.
