I have had HOI3 registered for years but I cannot see the mods section anymore.

Try this
Go into the Mods section. Find the tab at the bottom labeled Thread Display Options and then click the Set Options button
If that doesn't do anything, perhaps a different browser?
I do this with Firefox and it makes all the threads magically appear.
Although, all the threads were there for me today.

The sections show up but all are marked 'private'. reregistered the game but no go yet.
