I bought this game on Bundle Stars last night to find out that it permanently freezes every time I start a new game. This also happens with the Death and Taxes mod. Is there a fix for this?
Can't play the game at all.

Did you install all the expansions and patch it? The final patch for 5.2 should give you the checksum QMXZ (checksum is a four digit code in the lower left corner of the main menu screen, assuming you can get there before the freeze). Also, does it just freeze? There's no error code after the crash?
