because of 'EU4 is running mods or altered in other ways' thing, i was able to play the game 3 days ago and now i cant play ironman mode, thanks in advance

I'm not quite sure what you are saying. Is this with the same save game as before, that used to be Ironman-enabled and is now not?
If so, FYI there is a known bug where if you play an Ironman game, save it, and do an in-game load of a non-Ironman game, it actually turns your Ironman game into a non-Ironman game too. That should be fixed inthe next patch.
But if you are saying you can't play Ironman mode at all, that's not a known issue, as long as you can contact the Steam servers (they are down every now and then for maintenance).

I'm having this same problem right now, too. I'm on steamchat so I assume I can access the steam servers but is there any way of checking if the cloud connection is down?
Maybe that's documented on Steam's site somewhere, I don't know. I guess you could start a normal game and try saving it to the cloud.
i wasnt disconnected from steam servers and i couldnt connect to multiplayer/ironman, as they're greyed out. somehow i can play both of them right now. thank you anyway
I have a similar problem + Steam-Workshop isn't functioning.

Steamcloud or rather SteamCommunity won't start on launching EU IV. First time I launched the game it was ready, also Ironman was selectable.

I deactivated SteamCommunity, but I'm not offline playin or similar. I can't understand why these subscribed mods won't start/work.

My problem was fixed when I restarted my computer and steam downloaded a steam update. I guess that's somethign people in my position coudl try, to see if there's a client update.
No effect, too bad. All options, that could possibly interfere, were checked. Nothing.
Well that is expected - as with MP, a connection to Steam is required for Ironman to be possible - how else could it save to the cloud?

I'm having a similar issue. I'm connected to Steam, have no mods enabled, and yet suddenly it is stating that my Achievements and Multiplayer are disabled. I even reinstalled the game, I have no idea what could be wrong.
Can't launch my Ironman save at the moment. It's really something that should work better in general, it's WAY too fickle. Certainly more than half the times I launch the game, Ironman saves won't load because of this.
Ok i think ive found the issue, my checksum if wrong, despite even deleting and reinstalling. i cannot get the checksum right
You need to delete all files and directories under BOTH the Steam EU4 and Documents EU4 locations, before re-installing. Obviously move any valued save games elsewhere first.
What about those of us who pretty much always have the right checksum, but still run into this problem over and over again?

[As backing you can look up your Steam log files (--> can be found in Steam/logs: cloud_log.txt, and all connection_log.txt files; if you see 'Operation failed' or really long connection log for your last Steam start, then you should check up your firewall

4. Start EU IV via Steam and check up if everything is working.
If you're lucky, it should work then.

Well it usually doesn't. Often it works when I relaunch the game. That could seem like a checksum problem, except the checksum is correct the first time.
Why not, exactly? You can't see them there? I assume you can get onto Steam OK though?
