Cant Open Games

I hope someone still reads this forum, because I have a nasty problem.


For some reason, recently, none of my saved games will load, the bar will go to a certain length, then stop. I can start new campaign, but cannot open a saved game, any saved game. This basically makes it impossible to play HoI.

What might be causing this? Whats the solution?

I have the six pack version of HoI, playing it as it came. That is 1.06c

So if you start a new game and save it, you can't even load that savegame? Have you used Alt-tab after it freezes to see if there is an error message box being hidden?

Yes, that is correct. I have started new games, and cant open them either.

Yep, no error message.

I would suggest uninstalling, using the manual uninstall instructions which you can find in the self help sticky thread under the "1 Uninstall" hot link, if necessary.
Then do a fresh install.
If you have an important savegame you want to keep then you should copy that to another folder before wiping the game. But when you reinstall try starting a new game and see if that loads before you try the old save game.
