Can't liberate Poland as Hungry takes provinces

Hi,
I'm playing Germany and have attacked Poland with my Hungarian ally. Even though I use German troops to occupy Polish territory, the Eastern Polish provinces, some of which have never had Hungarian troops in, come under Hungarian control when I annex Poland. This prevents me from liberating it.
Does anyone know why these provinces are becoming Hungarian, and how to avoid them doing so?

If you attacked from Hugarian soil these provinces become Hungarian even if you use german troops.
Better just use hungarian units to defend it's homeland and for supporting (static) attacks - your army should only operate from german-controlled areas to get these provs under your control.
Also as GER you should not liberate Poland - that's not only gamey but may later lead to problems if you choose to attack SOV.

I think it may be more than "attacking from allies' soil". Once, while annexing Yugoslavia, I attacked only from German territory, yet provinces went to Italy, Hungary, and Bulgaria (who were my allies) if they had a National Province claim to them.
