Can't launch both demo and beta

Hey,

I firstly downloaded the demo, installed it and launched it. It starts with the logos of paradox and another one, and then, it crashes : my computer is searching, but nothing happens. Same with the beta.

I have tried to manually enter my screen resolution into the 'settings.script' file, but nothing happen (same problem).

Here are the specs of my computer :
OS : Windows 7 64 bits Home Premium edition
Proc : Intel i5 750 @ 2,67 GHz
Memory : 4.0 GB RAM DDR3 @1666 MHz
Motherboard : Asustek Maximus III Gene
Screen : 23" @1920x1080 60Hz
2 graphic cards crossfired : 2 x AMD Radeon 4850 HD (1Go DDR5)
Hard Disk : 1 TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 (468 GB free)

It turns out I have a very similar computer and I also have 4850 cards in crossfire. It hangs up after the logos come on, but when I disable crossfire it works fine. Windows 7 64 bit, 4mb, 30" monitor 2560x1600.

Ok, I'll try.
But in the Catalyst Control Center, Crossfire is disabled. I know it is activated because some games uses both cards, but I can't activate it in the CCC.

I'll try to unplug the Crossfire bridge...

But please Paradox, fix the Crossfire bug !

Luckily I backed out from buying a crossfire when I was planning to buy this computer.. What I've heard and read, it is almost certain to get some problems

Oh well, I've managed to live with my single 5850, but what I know for sure is that I next time I won't buy ATI card. For some reason, I trust more on Nvidia's driver side, even that their cards are overpriced. Same goes with CPU's... Intel ftw

I'm sure that devs from Colossal Order comment on something here soon. I think you should post also dxdiag here for devs to look at.

Lol for sure, Intel are better !! But I'm happy with my ATIs (even if I have to disable CCC at startup, to avoid BSOD.......)

Ok, I'll do it this evening, 'cause I'm currently at work .
But if I can't play the game, I don't know if I have to pre-order the game... I'm sad, it seems to be a pretty game !

Main problem for ATI is the driver side. It seems that they can produce crappy drivers on daily basis lol.. For example last time when I upgraded my drivers, I started to get BSOD twice a day on desktop use. Then I went back to older ones, which worked well. Now they released new drivers, and that problem has disappeared, but sometimes I get strange graphic bugs instead. Luckily those are rare, and usually disappear after fine tuning with settings. xD

They should sack some of the driver dev team...

Yea, except if you want to use ATI Overdrive. Anyway, with this kind of crap drivers, OC is out of question anyway because you'll have plenty of problems to deal with even without overclocking lol....

Yeah, that's sure... But for instance, I don't need any OC, I can't play that kind CIM game :'( ...

You should be able to play the game since minimum requirements are
* Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7
* Processor: 2 GHz Dual Core or higher
* Memory: 2 GB RAM
* Hard drive space: 2 GB
* Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800/ATI Radeon HD 3850 or higher, 512 MB RAM, OpenGL 3.0

Gotta be some Crossfire related problem or driver issue, hopefully they can sort this out.

Yeah I have the min reqs. Hope they will fix that Crossfire bug very soon !
I'll post my dxdiag this evening, with the log file as stevebone said.
