cant install 2.1

Downloaded the combo pack of part one and two. Cant install 2.1 mod. I was able to download hot fix but when I pull up the start game and check for updates the 2.1 is there but it wont let me download it. A popup comes up and says I dont have rome part one. I think its because I bought the game as a combo. Any sugestions on how to get 2.1???????????????

I assume by Part 1 and Part 2 you mean the base game Rome and the expansion VV, yes? AFAIK 2.1 only checks for the presence of VV, since VV can only ever be installed over Rome anyway, not by itself. Can you paste in the exact message you get please?

I suggest you uninstall both games, and manually delete the game directory. Then install Rome, but pick a new directory outside the system path, something like c:\games\rome or whatever. Then install VV over that, making sure it overwrites rome. Then install 2.1 over that, again making sure it overwrites the older files.

i think i did what u said uninstall reinstall in different location the exact warning is europa universalis- rome-vae victus not installed but it is installed because when i get to the start screen it says vae victus and i can play i downloaded 1.3 before vae victus and had no prob but cant get 2.1

please help

Did you download either or both of Rome and VV from Steam? If so the 2.1 patch would have to come from them ... indeed it may already be installed.

If you got them from Paradox and/or Gamers Gate, then all I can suggest is uninstalling and reinstalling again; the 2.1 patch installer looks in the registry to see if VV is present, so your installation of VV must have not updated the registry in some way.
