Can't install 1.06

Hello,

I seem to be unable to install 1.06. I split my harddisk and installed the game on d:, and now the patch says I can't install the patch because I haven't installed EU2?

Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

Insert the original CD, and point the installer to your new location. After that, you should be able to run the patch.

Do you mean I should completely reinstall the game on d: and then apply the patch?

Yep.

The installation remembers where it was installed, and the patch checks that location to find the EU2 installation. Since you have moved it from your C: to your D: drive, the patch is now unable to find your EU2 directory.

Reinstalling the game will solve this.

I had to do this myself last week, because I now use a Win2K and a Win98SE multi boot configuration, whereas the game was origionally installed on my (still present) Win98 partition.

Even though you can play the game like this, the patch won't work.

Might be able to prevent reinstallation by examing the registry for references to europa and making sure it points to the correct hard drive.

start->run->regedit

It depends on which country version he has. With some versions this won't work.

By far the "best" solution (the one most likely to work correctly) will be to uninstall and then reinstall from scratch.
