Can't get into a channel

I connect to Valkyrie.net and all is A-OK. But then they tell me to chose a channel and I do so (choosing WAR) and then it says... Changing Channels... and nothing happens. I don't know if it's supposed to say logged into the channel or whatever but there is never anyone in that channel. Anyways nothing happens. If I try to change channels, then when I click on the arrow it says Changing Channels, my computer freezes or it CTD ?

I have a Cable Connection. Patch is installed. 700 Mgz Celeron and enough RAM so it wont lag in the 1419 game. ZoneAlarm is completely off.

I tried at 4 PM again and it happened again. It's not that I can't select a channel. It's that when I choose one, it says CHANGING CHANELS and then NOTHING HAPPENS ! If I try to change channel once more I can get 3 different reaction :

1) It says "changing of Channel" and the game freezes. I gotta reboot it.
2) My computer CTD
3) I get disconnected.

Just there, I could get on to all 3 channels. Saw a few folks on 1st channel just as they started a game.

Just played MP with Shadowstrike on v-net. Went well played a good 10-11yrs before we had to quit. No crash - very happy

just played a game with downer777, diablo and myself, worked fine with just a few moments of lag on my end because i was using my slow computer to test things. we had a stable couple games and a very cool war at the end

Same here... either 2 or 2 and 3... Just can't get into either

keep in mind that they are still working on the server so you may see channels change or perhaps you might lock up once or twice. Just log back in and try again or they might have a brief period of down time. It all depends, give it time though because they are still working on things to make our multiplayer experience better

Until today I could get a list of channels, but any attempt to join one gave a message "you have been disconnected".

On a hint from a user in the general EU2 forums, I went to update my lan driver. I have a 3com 3c905c-tx card connected to my cable modem. The driver was 1.80 dated 2000. I tried to get an update using the Windows Update option from MS, it actually downgraded my driver to 1999! So I went to the 3com site and got driver version 4.8 (!) dated 8/2001. I can now connect to any channel and see the users and games there. Haven't tried playing yet, but all looks good.

The "you were disconnected" message from VKN was very uninformative, it would be nicer if it told you why!
