Can't get EUIV to start

I recently bought the game and tried playing today, it brings up the launcher and I select "Start EU4", the game starts and the screen opens, the music starts, and the game crashes within a second. The only response I've gotten out of my system is the Windows error message, the one saying "Euroap Universalis IV has stopped working, windows will notify you if a solution is available"

I've tried verifying the game, completely deleting everything and reinstalling, updated any related software that I could find referenced in the first page of posts and it still doesn't work.

If you could please help me that would be greatly appreciated.

Please try installing:

Then: visit the Windows Update site and allow it to apply all .NET updates/patches it wants to, for all .NET versions.

I had already tried all of those, they'd been on one of those threads I mentioned, it appears to be some sort of graphics issue with the monitor that I had been using. I recently moved it to another screen and the issue resolved itself, I'll try messing with the graphics options to get it working on both monitors.

Ok, got a fix, not the most versatile one though. I just have to play it on my laptop's monitor, not on the second monitor that I have with me, tried it on another second monitor and it didn't work then either. It's strange because I never had this problem with CK2. Always played CK2 on the second monitor thank you for the help though.
