Can't get achievements with older versions

I'm trying to get an Italy achievement done but the game is literally unplayable as Italy till the next DLC comes out(battleplans are erasing if they go anywhere near the middle east or north africa). I thought I could revert to an older patch but apparently achievements are disabled for them. Is there really no way to play Italy till the new DLC comes out?

You can get achievements in older versions as long as the achievement was available at the time of the version. So for example any 1.4 aka Death or Dishonor achievements can not be earned before version 1.4
