Can't force-vassalize Bosnia

Bosnia's a one-province minor and a vassal of Hungary, though not in HUN's alliance. It's also a core (I'm Byzantium in Interregnum), so I decided to attack it and make it my vassal so I can diploannex it later.

But, I conquered Bosnia, wiped out its army, but the peace deal screen won't let me select "force vassalization" or whatever. I can ask for military access and the 25g Bosnia has.

Is it because they're already Hungary's vassal? Surely they'd prefer switching their allegiance rather than being executed and my taking their land anyway...

Can't force-vassalize another's vassal... that's just the way it is.

don't peace them until they have 300 ducats to offer you...unless you're annexing.

It would take a long time for a one-province Bosnia, let alone an occupied one, to raise 300 ducats. And the peace offers would just get annoying.

Maybe this will change in EU3 .

I hope so too, since it makes perfect sense to me. "Sure, Hungary's been your suzerain for 50 years, but who's your master right now?"
