The title says it all, it should be noted that I've got a mercenary company in the stack and it may be this that prevents the other seats from filling? anyway it's kinda annoying to only have one slot filled in the middle of a war
Noticed it too. Is that WAD? I remember that some patches ago autonom vassals ment always that the vassals filled the commander spots themselve and you could not change them.
The good old times where you did capture a lot of nobels in all wars. Not like it is now where you only capture one lowborn general every 3 or 4 major battles.
Now all your vassals send only troops with no commanders. Do my vassal not care anymore for their levies ?
Noticed that too. I'm in favour of change and I believe you should be able to fill empty slots on your own, which is different from replacing an already existing commander.
Just noticed another thing, the crown authority was just increased so I can now choose my commanders, however in my biggest stack i cant put anyone in the rightmost command slot even though there are plenty of eligible candidates
You should be able to. Do you mean there is already someone in ? If so open the army view, go to the tab "reorganise" or something along that.
There you can resign the current commander and appoint a new one.
Play around with that a bit.
That you can't appoint leaders is due to autonomous vassals and thus is WAD and makes sense.
That there are none and the vassals dont come on their own is very probably a bug and reported several times. Hopefully the next patch will help.
I'd like to see an army of 10.000 men without a commander.
In the capital:
King: Men! The filthy Kievians have declared a de jure war for what's clearly our land according to this map my dad gave me! Now, since vertical businesses is the new thing and apparently boosts productivity loads, you're your own commanders! If you all just march five provinces east and two to the north and boot the rumps out of those Russians, that would be great.
Actially you can do it, but you need your own levies in army. You still can assign commanders for your own levies. So, if you put your own levies on flanks with out commanders, you can assign them.
Zero crown authority has its own downsides and I feel it is WAD.
The fact that 95% of armies start with no commanders needs to be patched. At the very least, fill levy armies from the courts in each county. You'll probably get a load of low-marshal commanders, but I'd rather have a 3 marshal mayor of derptown leading troop than nobody.
