I wanted to try my hand at running an elective monarchy, as well as see the new rules for the Byzantine Empire, so I decided to play as a Byzantine Doux. I like the Angeloi, so I fast forwarded the game to 1096 and found one ruling as a the Doux of Samos. Unfortunately, the Empire had moved to primogeniture for succession, and had medium crown authority. Shortly after it moved up to high crown authority. To institute elections, I'll need to bring down crown authority. To that end, I created a faction, but it seems to draw no supporters. I've tried spreading some money around to other dukes to make them like me more, but to no avail. Any advice on how to make the faction work for me?

I also have a good relationship with the Basileus, he's greedy and the gift I have him far outweighs his dislike for my faction. I don't know if that matters or not.
