[2.3]Can't fight enemy stack

So I'm in a war, I occupied the target province, and the enemy has a fairly large stack of troops that is completely avoiding my main stack. They can siege my county, but I can't fight them. It seems to begin retreat at the exact moment I arrive, and even if I catch them they do not fight. In some cases I we are occupying the same county without fighting. I've never seen this after years of playing, so it's either a bug or some new rule.

What's going on?

EDIT: This must be a bug, I decided to stand my ground with my stack of 5000 while his force of 2500 entered the same county and bounced off with no fight occurring.

Is it a Holy Order?

That is a big possibility. I finally won that war without this enemy stack interfering, so I kinda forgot about it. The unit model was a horse with barding, so I bet it was a holy order. Do they refuse to fight Catholics? It might be nice to have a message pop up instead of a battle explaining why there's no battle.

Holy Orders will only fight infidels and heretics. I ran into this problem on one of the WoL betas, but haven't seen it in 2.3. The really shouldn't even show up as hostile toward you.

I had it happen again. It is because they were holy orders. They do show up as hostile, but they are not hostile.

EDIT: They do seem to be able to add themselves to sieges, but I'm not sure about that yet. This could also be an AI bug, because the Pictish King seems to hire them after I have wiped out his main army.

We are aware of some circumstances in which the AI is trying to use holy order against you. Even when of the same religion. Usually it happens when the AI also is in another war against someone of another religion, in which he will recruit a holy order. But then also try to use it against you if he finds you to be the more important target.

There is already a bug report on the AI using holy orders in our database though. Thanks for reporting though!
