Can't diplo-annex my 41-years vassal

Hello guys,
I need some help in diploannex. I'm playing with AGCEEP 1.50, Mossi. I force-vassalised Hausa in 1463, now I'm 1504, I'm at peace, I have a relation of +199, but the option is still grey out. Why?
Is it maybe coz I'm pagan and they are muslim? Or because they have a permanent casus belli on me (they do)?
Still, I thing that it's quite weird and unfair!

Your religions need to be compatible - which IIRC Muslim and Pagan are not unfortunately.

I dont think its possible for pagans to diplo annex anyone, not even other pagans.

Pagans can't marry anyone, so indeed they can neither diplo-annex nor diplo-vassalize anyone, except other pagans.

But they can convert anyone to paganism.

To diploannex the target must be a caountry with which you *could* have a royal marriage, i.e. have the same religion or even the same religious subgroup.

From the diplomacy faq:

FAITH:          CAN HAVE ROYAL MARRIAGE WITH
Pagan:          Pagan
Sunni:          Hindu, Budhist, Konfucian, Sunni
Shiite:         Hindu, Budhist, Konfucian, Shiite

After the Edict of Tolerance, all Christians can have RM with each other

To sum it up: pagans can only marry each other; sunnis hate shiites; catholics hate prots/reformists until the edict of tolerance.

Tried the same thing. I play France starting in 1419, no patches and Orleans is a vassal. It´s a core province only, relations are constantly above +190, they have been vassals for 23 years, we have royal marriage AND alliance, still I don´t get the annex option. Why?
P.S: this happens to 4 more coreprovinces, all of which have same stats as Orleans

Sorry, of course I don´t have both Royal marriage and vassal(can´t happen) only vassal. I´ve waited a while longer, checked the diplo box every 4-5 days, and suddenly the option was there! Annex? Yes, please! But the bastards didn´t want any of it! Now what do I do?

I think so.
I have heard it is a common trick to make any nation immediately annexable in the next war.

You can not diplo-annex anyone when you (or they, or both of you) are at WAR...

To force-convert a state - ie to convert them as part of the peace - you have to make sure you're making a seperate peace with them, even if they're the only state you're at war with.

So many news to hear! On the manual book it is written that only CrCath can force convert other countries to their own religion!

Same way as if you're fighting a war with many opponents, click on their shield and it will change to seperate peace.
It just needs that for some reason.
It will end the war the same though.

Actually I've realised it is not possible to force convert non-pagans to paganism, even with 100% warscore and with a separate alliance. At least not with AGCEEP 1.50.

As far as I know you can diploannex the target if you are at war but they must be at peace. I'm not 100% sure so can somebody check this?

It took me two years of playing eu2 to figure out that you can make separate peaces in the peace resolution screen! o
