Cant create a proper Sector in the L Cluster

I knocked out the Grey Tempest and have colonised 16 planets in the L Gate area.

But I cannot create a sector. When I do it only extends to that one system.

This only happens in the L Cluster.

Anyone seen this before. Am I doing something wrong?

I've seen at least one other person who ran into that problem. I suggest making a bug report with the relevant save game handy.

After you claim the L cluster, you need to save and exit. Once you load, the systems behave normaly. This has been bugged forever.

Sorry... You need to do it right after you claim it?

Trying it at my last save point after I have colonised and tried to form a sector has failed to resolve. I dont have an autosave prior.
