Cant connect/sync my steam account

So I am trying to register my copy of hearts of iron 4 through steam so that i can submit a reproducable bug report for that game. but to do that i need to sync my steam account to my paradox account.

All well and good except that i get the world most useless and nondescript error message when i chose to connect

it is a entirely white screen that says
An error occurred while processing your request.

If somebody could tell me what this means or how i could go about solving it. that would be really awesome.

File a ticket with support.

a ticket for the bugreport or a ticket for finding out why the steam sync thing wont work? i have no idea if its a paradox or a steam problem if its the steam connect. and hearts of iron 4 is not even available as a ticket option on the support list there

NVM found it. i didnt realize the dropdown there was not what i needed. but i had to click onwards

and NVM nr2. apparently the entire steam community system is completely down and nobody can log in. thus why i cant connect my steam account.. sigh...

I have the same issue duck, cannot connect to my steam account and I get the same error ... although the Reference is different for me.
