Can't change game speed on laptop

got a strange problem here. im tryin to play EU2 on my laptop but i cant speed up/slow down the time. on my desktop i would use the +- keys on the numpad but my laptop doesnt have a numpad!

the P key and the key below have the +- signs in them but the dont change the time. im assumin im gonna have to re configure the keys to somethin else as there aint a button on screen to change the game speed

Excuses if this doesn't work for you (you might have another model), but on my, pressing scroll lock works. However it's annoying if you should write, since when you press i, it becomes a 5.

There is no button on the screen to change speed, but there is an option in the menus.

Laptops do have numpads, you'll see one superimposed on the keys. Just hit numlock and they ahould work fine.
