Ok, so i was forced by a faction to lower crown authority. The faction was too strong and i wasn't sure i could defeat them, and since i had a regent and everybody pretty much hated me (short reign and demesne too big with too many duchies and 1/2 of my vassals were foreigners....). Anyway i though I could get a smaller penalty with lower CA, but now i'm older, stronger and better loved so i'm thinking i could raise CA to medium once again, but it says that my king cannot change Crown Law again. How come?

Harsh but true...

It is why it pays to:

a. keep those factions in check when you are popular

b. pause and stay paused on succession to try and sort out your inevitably dire approval ratings when you inherit... A few seconds at high speed it enough to fill up those formerly lame duck factions when every ones' opinion has dropped to negative...
