Cant build/replace capital building on planet conquered forma hive mind?

Did my first non gestalt game with 2.2.X and conquered some planets from a hive mind and now im stuck with a hive mind capital building the i cant remove or replace the regular way. Dont think i had this problem as a hive mind when conquering regular empires. Am i missing something or is this bugged?

Seems to be a general problem. I just had a game where the AI conquered some natives and it had no capital building on the planet. Swapped to the AI via console to see what was going on and there was indeed no way of getting your capital building.

I conquered some FEs [War in Heaven] and had a similar problem. Seeing as I already ruined my ironman playthrough by needing to save-game-edit because of a corrupt species causing a crash I decided to just destroy the old capital in the GUI, go to the console, and run effect set_building building_system_capital ... That would spawn a "colonization" capital on the first of the next month which was "good enough" for me.

Note: I wanted to play all the way through but there's too much micro to "own the galaxy" for me even playing on a Small Galaxy. After the contingency spawns and is then put down I'll just make a new game with habitability 0.25 and see how that works out.

I do have the reverse issue in my current ironman game. But with a hive mind devourer. When I conquer another planet, I am stuck with the regular planetary administration or even dissasembled ship. There's no way I can replace it with hive capital building.

Yep im having the same issue. Do patches generally fix this kind of thing?

Gotta jump in here and note that this is a big annoyance for me too- I have spent this entire Determined Assimilator run playing nice and rushing to get my assimilation colossus and, now that I have it, being unable to fully convert and optimize the worlds I take is a big damper on my mood.

Same issue - playing determined assimilator and can't do a thing to "Planetary Assemblies" even after assimilating all the pops. I went through it step-by-step to see if it would change at some point. Moved all the pops out, then tried - destroyed all the other buildings then tried - destroyed all the districts and then tried.

No fix. Can't change or destroy the building. Had to abandon the planet all together.

The poster on Redix called it "game breaking." I'm inclined to agree.

You can fix this by destroying the building, a new one is built the next month. (I'm playing latest beta branch)
Did the same thing to 2 Primitives that I conquered; the next month I had the right capital buildings (latest patch).

Same problem for me as a Gestalt Machine. If the planet hit the max size capital building it gets stuck. I do see to remember that if I had one to upgrade it went to the right tree but only if I could upgrade based on pop growth. They need a way to "build" the replacement to match for Gestalt civs...
