Dammit. First wave, about 1000 army strength against about 750 army strength undead legions (was fun, another empire landed their armies next to mine to help out). Included a cybrex warrior and lithoid/resilient troops. Knocked them down to four zombies still standing.

Okay. That didn't work. Send a second wave (roughly two years to build up armies and relocate another cybrex warrior). 1200 strength or so army plus regular reinforcing armies against 750 army strength.

I LOST AGAIN!! And this time they had 8 armies standing.

Stupid raise from dead. Aaargh.

Now I'm orbital bombarding the stupid planet to oblivion. Lets see how that goes.

Another two years I'll have gene warriors, but then I'll have to wait until the peace treaty expires as this war will be over by then.

*Bleep*

How much army strength does it take, seriously?!

Use a general with disengagement bonuses.

They can't raise what isn't dead.

I did! The general died during the second invasion.
Keep generals in a 1 army stack alongside the actual army.
Land him after the main stack, and he will start in the reinforcements instead of the frontline.

They… can raise generals? I didn’t see an opposing general in the combat screen. That would probably do it though. I’ll try customizing the landing parties next time instead of merging them into one big group. Or maybe build 8 cybrex war forms and send them in - those can’t be raised.

This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. With the combat width limit and 1/3 organic armies raised from the dead, and being stronger, I’m not even sure a two for one advantage would cut it when using organic armies if there is enough armies in the battle for both sides to have reserves.

They don't raise generals, but if your general dies, you lose the buffs.
Generals are assigned to specific armies and when the army dies, the general usually does as well.
If you land the army your general is assigned to after the initial stack, his army will not start on the frontline and he won't die as fast.

If they rise 1/3 of organic armies, then You have to have 4x their strenght with general with disengagement bonus, or power greater then 5x theirs.
Assuming they will kill Your armies

If they can only raise slain organic armies, will using robotic assault armies and cybrex warforms keep them from doing that?
That’s right. Unfortunately I had bad luck with the tech card draws and don’t have robotic armies yet, other than cybrex war forms. And those I can’t build whenever I want to.

What I’ve learned from all this is you really need a good counter (robots) or overwhelming force (organic). And if you lose, they build back up to max strength faster than your second wave can arrive given the lower cost and faster build time of their units.

I took one of their smaller planets, but their capital has necromancers and several enforcers, giving a very solid defense. Even bombardment doesn’t knock them down much.

Being immune to morale is a very pertinent factor here aside from them raising slain armies. I've found that robotic armies can readily take on a force of standard organics twice their listed strength.

I had bought that necro DLC and learned about necromantic armies strength the hard way when my army doomstacks were wiped out completely in attack on their capital. Now I don't bother invading them, just use cracker.

Its is great in multiplayer if u arent into minmaxing the biggest fleet possible as fast as possible. Imagine a 20k fleet rushing u in 2230, but then getting stuck conquering a single of ur planets with their strength 500 army as all of ur planets have at least 1K armypower. Even machine players usually dont have bigger atackarmies and organic ones would either need 2k armies or bomb ur worlds for eternity, while their already strained eco, which was hard optimized for this war dies and other rushers in the galaxy speed ahead.

Its a fantastic early game defense strategy and a perfect counter meta.
