Cannot start on MAC. Again.

Hi,

I hadn't played CKII for a while, but wanted to try out the latest expansion. Under Steam, I can start the launcher, but the game reverts to the desktop with an error almost immediately. I tried to start directly from the Steam folder, with the same result. I checked the integrity of the cache, no problems there. I then redownloaded the whole thing, still no dice.

Is anyone experiencing anything similar? It feels like I am back a couple years back the way the game behaves on my mac...

Edit: I forgot to mention, I have a MacbookPro with Retina, specs are over the recommended ones.

Please do a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/SteamApps/common/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

File Locations on Mac OS X
The executable is in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Crusader Kings II/ck2.app
The user files (settings.txt, error logs, saved games, gfx) are in Users/<UserName>/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/
To see ~/Library/ go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .

Thanks for your time. Actually, I found the problem, but did not have time to report it: it's the EUIV module. If I uncheck it at startup, the game works fine. I believe I actually saw mention of that in another post, which is how I got the idea to try it out.

Do you mean the converter DLC? Or what? because there is no known Converter problem like that, that I'm aware of.

Well, I was talking about the EUIV converter DLC. When checked, the game returns to desktop immediately, unchecked, everything works. If you are interested, I can send you the error log, but I always send them when I meet them, so you might have received it already.

Did you do the clean install, as I described? I'm pretty sure that will fix that, as there's no known game bug like that.

No, I only deleted the files through the Steam "delete game content". I'll be happy to try a complete delete to try it out, but it'll have to be later, as my current internet connection is dreadful. I'll be happy to report the result here when I do though.
