Cannot Start Ironman

I have recently been offline for a little while and played numerous games of EU4. Obviously as I was offline both in Steam and from the net altogether, I couldn't start an ironman game.

Now I'm back online in Steam and back on the net, the box to start an ironman game is still greyed out and it tells me that I need to be logged into Steam (though I already am). I have restarted Steam, logged in/out several times and validated in Steam all to no avail.

My launcher even shows the little Steam drop box in the top left upon starting. Any ideas?

Check that Steam Cloud Sync is enabled in the Steam client.

Check that you have 1.7.3 7d7e .

Failing those, try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox/EU4
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.

I can confirm that the problem was that Steam Cloud Sync wasn't ticked in the Steam settings.
