Cannot screenshot Stellaris?

I'm trying to take a screenshot in-game but it doesn't seem to be working; it takes a picture of my desktop instead. It's always worked before, did something change?

Clicking f12 will cause steam to take an in game screenshot. It will not share any of these screenshots online unless you tell it to after the gaming session.

What screen size/type do you have the game on? Boderless windowed?

Full screen, 1920 x 1080. It's always worked before, not sure what changed.

What were you using to try to take screenshots before, if not f12 in Steam?

I am guessing printscreen button and then pasting to an image editor.

Correct. I've done this several times in the past, but now it refuses to capture the actual game window in favor of just the desktop.
