Cannot honour betrothal

So I betrothed my sister to an Aquitaine prince. After the betrothal the prince joined a holy order and became celibate. When my sister became of age a notification popped up which said that the happy couple could now marry, but this turned out to become impossible because the prince isn't allowed to marry anymore.

The weird thing is that the betrothal doesn't disappear. So now I can only marry off my sister by first breaking the betrothal, which gives me a penalty with the Aquitaine king. I know that this isn't that big of a deal but it seems strange to me. Shouldn't it be that a betrothal is automatically broken when someone decides to join a holy order? Or am I missing out on something here?

I've had an issue where I set up a matrilineal betrothal between my daughter and a courtier. Then I give the courtier a landed title, now the courtier won't honor the betrothal, but won't break it, either. Also, another courtier won't honor a betrothal because she's an infidel, even though he was perfectly happy when she was underage.

I think it'd be nice if not honoring the betrothal gave you a CB or something. I'm no history buff, but I imagine such situations actually happened at least once or twice, where a betrothal was dishonored and the slighted party either threatened or did go to war over it? Especially considering you can use a betrothal to get an alliance, then break it after your ally has done their part in winning your war - they should absolutely get a CB at that point.

Also especially annoying as a merchant republic, too, because they take the bride price money on betrothal, but then sometimes don't honor it. If you're selling me a woman, you can't just take my money and not deliver the goods! I already paid for her, now hand her over or give me a refund, with interest!
