Title says it all. Load up the game as the Count of Nantes, attack nearby count on day 1, prepare invasion on nearby duke day 1. If you raid the duke anytime within a year of when you must invade by, it will not let you declare your prepared invasion, its not even an option.

I let the little truce expire from raiding, and it still would not let me. /fail

I followed the steps you described here and I was unable to reproduce your issue. Do you have any additional information you could provide? Perhaps a savegame where this issue is present?

I -think- (not 100% sure) the problem is that you can target a prepared invasion against a target, but that doesn't mean you'll actually be able to use the prepared invasion CB because it has other requirements beyond the requirements of the diplomatic action. As I recall, prepared invasion CB requires the target to have a minimum of 4(?) counties in a kingdom.

But the Prepare Invasion diplo action doesn't have that requirement.

OP, May I suggest you look at the guidelines on how to write a bug report
also all threads without a valid version number are frowned on

The point of reporting bugs is for QA to replicate and log them, and vague descriptions like 'a nearby duke' aren't going to help them.

What happens if the target of a prepared invasion falls below the legal number of holdings to target while the invasion is being prepared (eg duke of brittany going from 3 to 2 provinces (takes him to <9 holdings) in Brittany)? The cb file suggests that limit is checked again when the war declaration is actually attempted.

Exactly. Although you don't get that problem with, say, papal invasions.

I don't see why the CB should have a check at all. After all, what if the target goes into a civil war? All of a sudden you're not allowed to press your invasion?

It's silly. Just remove the limits from the CB, because there the limits are already on the diplomatic action.

I had the same problem recently. I played as the count of nantes from the 867 start, created the duchy of Brittany, converted culture to Breton due to a liberation revolt and prepared an invasion on the king of Mauretania. When I tried declaring war, I only got single county conquest options. On spite I did so (lost the event troops and got the "failed invasion" event during), and conquered him county by county for the next decades.
