Cannot buy things from Paradox store

I don't know where to ask so I just posted in here.

I first bought EU4 from the PDX store and everything was fine. Now there is a sale and I wanted to get Cossacks as well as CK2 stuff.

I did what I did as before and checked out using paypal, but it just jumps back to the billing information page. I don't have a "credit card", but a debit card so I tried it anyway, and the result was "denied".

So, long story short, did PDX changed anything with the store that I can't buy it now? I am not living in USA, but I could still buy it before and they just converted the currency from my bank account.

PI has lately had to increase security measures due to an increase in scam attempts. That means that you can only make one purchase per 24 hours or something like that. That is temporary so it might not apply anymore; but it at least did at the last sale around a month ago.

So perhaps try again in 24 hours? The sale continues for 4 more days after all.

Really need a solution to this. is there a limit to the area where you can buy from PDX store? It feels really frustrating the store has sale and steam doesn't.

Did you buy something in it recently? At least previously there has been a temporary security feature where you only can make a purchase a day to combat scammers.
So perhaps try waiting 24 hours. And if that doesn't work then support is here support.paradoxplaza.com

No I haven't. It was March when I last bought something from the PDX store.

Yeah I'm having the same issue. I've never bought any PDX games through the website (only on steam) and when I saw the sale on all the CK2 expansion packs, I decided to try to grab them all. I've now tried probably 10 different times on 3 different devices with multiple different web browsers and I can't get any PDX to actually take my money. It's super frustrating and I'd rather just buy this stuff on steam.

I've never bought from here and it won't let me use my credit card. Fix your broken store. At least put the items on steam they're not broken.

Have you guys tried using paypal by the way? That is what I normally use on the PI store and I have never had any problems.


Anyway @TinyWiking are you aware of this huge amount of people not being able to use the store?

Paypal is the way I used to buy back in March and what I am trying to too. I tried the card method, it says credit card but I only have debit card. I tried anyway, and failed.

Paypal works for me on other sites, so I don't know why it doesn't on PDX store

Well Paypal worked for me around a couple weeks ago when i preordered HOI4. Can't say what has changed.
Also I believe that you debit card need to also be a visa or master card in order to be used for international online payment---that at least is the case here in Denmark.

My debit card is visa too. It is basically the card I use for my Paypal. However, it just says "Payment refused" when I tried it. I live in the UK, but I am using the school internet which, might alter something. However again back in March I bought with connecting school internet and everything was fine so I don't know what's the issue.

Going to go out in town this weekend, and if I can't buy it from outside's internet, I need to desperately find some trustworthy kindergarten friends I known for 13 years to log in my PDX account and paypal to try it somewhere else.

Because due to them being able to see the backend they might be able to figure out what is going wrong for so many people.

Also you don't need to hand out access to your account and paypal, since when purchasing from the PI store you just get a steam code and that can be gifted to anybody. Although you do need a PI account to use the store so if he doesn't have one... What you could do is to log in on his computer (so that you don't give away access to your account) and then have him pay with his paypal in the store. And then you pay him that money.

If a transaction on our webshop hits a payment problem of any sort, wait 24 hours before trying again. Any further attempt inside that 24 hour window is a waste of time, and pushes back the timer further. This is an anti-fraud measure that's necessary at the moment, to protect you and us.

Waited 24 hours and had no luck. Tried PayPal and when making the purchase it redirects me back to the store page with no error message and no proof of transaction.

That is actually very useful to know. Won't be trying until next day.

But, what may be the reasons for it to not work at the first place? If it was the problem causing it, I don't see how after 24 hours it would suddenly be gone, other than it just being a random error. I don't want to potentially make a mistake again within 24 hours of the end of the sale.

That sounds really really strange. Did you try contacting support?
Because within the last month/month and a half I have made 3 purchases from the PI store without problems. And I have never experienced any problems with it in the several years I have used it.
So it seems there is some issue that only effects some people.
