I am trying to marry my line (Antigonus) in with Antipatrids. I can't do it just marrying a male to one of their 16 year old woman. Literally, I pause on their 16th birthday to propose the marriage and the AI rejects it on unpause because she's already got an AI assigned husband. So, I tried recruiting, befriending, and adopting various male and female characters.

No matter what I do I cannot arrange marriage of the men at all to produce a female of his line. What's up with these ridiculous marriage rules STILL?

I realize this isn't CK2/3, but the character game still after well over a year is terrible.

When you recruit the woman which is already married guy will arive with her, simply imprison the guy who shes married and execute him , she will be available to you then.

Problem what are you encountering is in 2 things.

1. great family members will not marry minor character womans (even if you have 100 of them, it will be considered by the game there is none. that leads to major family to have 80% female babies but minors when they become majors needs a woman they dont get a RNG one for some reason.

2nd reason is influx of rng characters woth imprisonment after war is finished and with events is 2 big and all of them need a spouses when they join the family so again you lack the girls.

I did cry multiple times on forum about this and nothing has been done about it since 1.2 version of the game, its like that aince the major family implentation.

Soultion is simple but for some reason ignored by PDX, give rng characters when they join the families instantly RNG spouses and unblock the condition that majors can intermarry with minors

This isn’t correct. Great family members can marry minor characters, it’s marriages between two minor characters that will not happen.

As of the current version great families are also able to intermarry by bringing in countryside relatives, which means they’re never going to be completely out of marriages or children. In a monarchy or tribe this is something you can yourself also do to form bonds with the great families, in a republic you’ll have to trust them to do it themselves since you have no dynasty to boss around.
There’s also a failsafe that generates minor marriageable women in countries with a deficit.

What can be harder to do is political marriages between countries as described by @heliostellar
The ai is quite intent on quick marriages for its offspring and securing a royal marriage can be really hard. An event chain for setting one up perhaps as a form of bethrotal between under age royal children, similar to domestic political marriages could be useful :)

Its not something I can promise in the immediate future though, as it’s not strictly in the areas focused on for the Marius update :)

Also, while we're on the subject. Can you keep the game from culling all of the women and children from an annexed country's great family that I have allowed entry into my country?

You can only manually arrange marriages for close relatives (parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren, I think). Other members of your family normally won't marry, except maybe through some sort of event (or if you marry one of your close relatives to one of them).

No, that's not true. I cannot arrange marriage on any of my adopted family members:

He didn't say that you can arrange marriage for all your family members.

What he meant is that they added in 1.5 a character interaction that allows you in monarchies and tribes to seek the spouse for your immediate family members among other great families even though there might be no characters among those familes that are currently able to marry.

If that scheme succeeds then the character is automatically generated for you and you gain some loyalty boost with the family in question.

---------------------------

On another note, I haven't really experienced personally any difficulties in marrying the children of my own family off to the other royal families.

In my current playthrough with Thrace, the majority of members of the Alkimachid house have been married off to Lagids, Seleukids or Aikidai of Epirus.

Once just needs to keep a good track of those family members and snatch them as soon as they come of age.

This was already changed in 1.5:

Important foreign families that are taken in after annexation will now try to bring female members as well.

You might argue that still too few of the gained characters are female/children, but I regularly get at least some (when choosing to grant refuge to the great families and also when deciding to imprison elites)

I have been playing with the Mixed Gender Rules and taking the decision of gender equality on with great results.

I know it is not what happened at the time. Then we only need to increase the number of families' offspring to offset the low numbers of available characters. Something that would be reasonable for the time.

EDIT: I am not aware of an actual in game option to increase the number of sons and daughters right now. It is a suggestion for the devs to increase the number if possible. 6-9 per woman according to this?
