i have stopped using the carousing focus when my rulers get lunatic or an impaler, they just cant stop eating council members (including kinsmen, giving you kinslayer..)

It's all well and good knowing how to block and parry a sword or an axe but what's the defense against an old man charging you with a steak knife with delicious intent?

Yes, you can.

Inviting lunatics and/or impalers always has a (very low) chance that your character gets eaten. You will only be notified that you died under "suspicious circumstances" though, there is no "you were eaten"-message (no plotting is involved here, it happens randomly).

On the bright side, inviting lunatics can give you the "had agood time!"-modifier, and does so quite often.

This is in fact a party i was invited to, but the guy i ate wasn't the host.

yes, it´s random who gets to eat who, so guests can eat each other too without involvement of the host. The target weight is very low though, according to the wiki. I lost so far only one king that way, although pretty mch every ruler does some carousing at one point or another with his vassals in my campaigns. Still, pretty disruptive, especially when you are elective and haven´t secured a majority for your heir yet..

I didn't know Cuthberht was a Frey name. They usually go in for Walder or maybe a Targ name.
